The birthday boy's request? Did he want to go swimming, go out, have a playdate, a party? No. He wanted to stay in his pajamas, not leave the house all day, and play MineCraft for hours.
So he did.
We took a break in the afternoon for cake.
Then on Saturday, when things in the city were open again, we went to SubZero Ice Cream, which makes the ice cream through nitrogen flash-freeze. You pick the type of liquid cream, the flavoring syrup, and the candy bits to mix in, and the bowl is full of liquid until... nitrogen steam! and then ice cream happens.
Happy birthday Xander! It sounds like a perfect fun day. How did that high tech ice cream taste?
ReplyDeleteNone of the kids actually liked it as much as the regular ice cream. Go figure. But the making of it was awesome.
DeleteFood and science! Life doesn't get much better...
ReplyDeleteHi Sheryl! I too was wondering if it tastes the same as or as good as regular ice cream. It's amazing to see ice cream made right in front of your eyes from just the stuff you like best. Wow! I remember the hours turning the handle on the ice cream making machine....that is hard work!
ReplyDeleteLate, but never toO late .. hAPPY bIRTHDAY, xANDER.
Hand churning! Wow. My kids have enough trouble imagining a world without a cell phone. :)
