Making crystals

We made the crystal solution with baking soda.  Then put in a pipe cleaner shape and left it overnight.

Yay for crystals!  It would have been better with boric acid, but eh, we had the baking soda in the house already.

    I still don't know about crystals, but who cares? I am delighted to see the intense interest on the faces of those two wonderful boys, Ari and Xander, as they're examining the finished product, and then the exuberant pleasure that Xander displays when showing off the finished product. I love to see how they follow through when their curiosity is piqued. Learning is so exciting.
