The classics

We showed the kids the original Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, in tribute to Gene Wilder.  And The Neverending Story.  And Beetlejuice.

Xander loved Beetlejuice, but Ari wasn't a fan: "Mommy, Daddy's showing us a movie about ghosts.  I don't like it.  Do we have to watch just it because he saw it when he was a kid?!"

  1. I think I'm with Ari on this one. I saw Beetlejuice twice with you Michal- once before you had your glasses (and you couldn't see a thing) and once after. It really wasn't my favorite either time. It's kind of scary.

  3. Haven't seen "Beetlejuice" so can't comment on that.
But it does remind me that I cheerily insisted that we all watch "The Red Shoes" when my children were very young. It was many years leter when you, Jan, confided to me that "The Red Shoes" was scary, SCARY! I was devastated to hear that so many years later. My favorite all-time classic was scary and you didn't like it!!! At least Ari is telling you NOW!!!!!
